Author Mary E. Pearson visits Connelly to discuss her career and books
October 2, 2009

The author of The Adoration of Jenna Fox, this year's selection for the All School Reading Program, spoke to the students at a
special assembly Oct. 2. Mary E. Pearson has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach and a teaching
credential from San Diego State University.

The All School Reading Program at Connelly High School seeks to stimulate thought-provoking discussions about contemporary issues,
build community, and promote the enjoyment of reading. The entire Connelly community (students, faculty and staff) will read The Adoration
of Jenna Fox
during conference time in September, as designated on your school calendar. All students will receive copies of the book and will read it in their advisee groups.

The School Library Journal's review of the book says, "This is a beautiful blend of science fiction, medical thriller, and teen-relationship novel that melds into a seamless whole that will please fans of all three genres."

"The dedicated and supportive teachers and faculty, the energetic and welcoming students, the openness and comfort of the campus, I knew Connelly was the school for me."
Katherine, Class of 2011

"I had a pretty remarkable experience at Connelly. I think it was the catalyst for my university acceptance. I owe the rest of my life decisions and career choice to that experience at Connelly."
