Three Connelly students who submitted art in the TrashARTist Challenge at Muzeo, in Anaheim, received an Honorable Mention in the high school category.
The masks by Connelly students Bianca Cruz '14, Tessa Rodriguez '14 and Ally Savaadra '14 were displayed at MUZEO through April 20. The girls each made a mask from newspaper and glue and then teamed up to make a complete piece of art for submission. This was Connelly's first year to participate in the event.
The challenge features art by students who may use only recycled materials to complete their projects. The contest was sponsored by numerous organizations including Disneyland, Anaheim Public Works, and Orange County Community Foundation. The public was asked to cast ballots for the artists online and in person at Muzeo for the People's Choice award.
