Connelly Students See Government "Close-Up"
February 10, 2008

Juniors and seniors from Connelly High School in Anaheim just returned from a week-long Close-Up Foundation government studies program in Washington, D.C.  The Foundation's program develops students' knowledge and appreciation of American Government.  Throughout the week students analyzed and discussed current issues that challenge our country.  On Capitol Hill Day, the students visited their senators' offices, the Capitol, the gallery of the House of Representatives (where they got to see congress voting on bills and resolutions), the Library of Congress and the office of Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez.  The process enables students to gain an understanding of both their rights and responsibilities as citizens.
